What is new now!

Jul 21, 2021

Well, my book, “The SPIRIT Method of Massage for Seniors” is now on Amazon.  Since its appearance, my advocacy for seniors has become louder and more targeted to the younger generation of industry professionals. Why?  Because, in my opinion, they need to change from an allopathic medicine structure to one of choice in the senior living care homes.  Some of us will want and perhaps demand more natural and less invasive care.

My goal is to keep my generation, the baby boomers, and their children healthier and away from the tunnel vision of the medical system or from depending on their families.  For many of us who are still healthy, that is a choice we can make.   Some who are now ill can improve and live a healthier lifestyle.  For some others, this may not be obtainable.

And the opulence of the new senior living homes being built and the humongous size of them is, in my mind, absurd.  I would like to see them spend some of that money on more healthy diets, organic foods, and better care through choice.  I would like to see education in the dining rooms about which foods do what for the aging body and more.

And then there is one of my favorite topics, “Nutrient Thieves in Your Medicine Cabinet”.  We need to be feeding our seniors in a way that offsets the nutrient drain from their medications.  Simple aspirin depletes 4 nutrients.  Just think what a handful of medications can take from an aging body.  I call it ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul and Peter never gets paid back.  So while we are supposedly making things better for Paul, Peter is slowly dying.

There is so much I see that needs to change.  That got me to write my book and to speak louder as I age about the avoidable problems in aging and in the care or lack thereof that we are paying such a high price for.  I have also networked and get new connections.

New partnerships are in the air.  I never know what or who may offer opportunities.  But I welcome what finds me and see how it can work into the grand scheme of things.  I keep busy with all the ideas I am pursuing.  I hope that whatever dreams you are chasing, you catch them!!

Don't Use The V-Word

Do you mind my asking you how old you are?" Linda, in her early 70's, doesn't identify as a "senior" - at least not in the context that most people think of it.
